The Sun Rises on Psychedelics

June 17th, 2021 marks 50 years since U.S. President, Richard Nixon, declared the War on Drugs but this story really began within one world view, which holds a story about a man and a woman named Adam and Eve who ate from the Tree of Knowledge.

Harm Reduction

Harm reduction is a set of practical strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use. Harm Reduction is also a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs.

Four Principles

Zendo Project’s Four Important Principles of Psychedelic Harm Reduction

  1. Create a safe space
  2. Sitting, not guiding
  3. Talk through, not down
  4. Difficult is not the same as bad

Safety & Legalities

The use of psychedelic substances is illegal in most countries. Moreover, some substances may be adulterated with toxic, even potentially lethal drugs.

Vision

WPD 620 envisions a time when synthetic and naturally occurring psychedelic medicines are better understood, made safely and legally available, and appreciated for all their beneficial, wondrous, and sacred uses.

Mission

WPD 620 shares frontier science and Indigenous wisdom to create awareness about the safe and therapeutic uses of synthetic and naturally occurring psychedelic medicines. Through traditional and social media, art, and music, this day of celebration and discussion engages and unites the curious and experienced.

Values

WPD 620 upholds the essential values of sustainability, accessibility, diversity, inclusivity, transparency, and justice. We welcome collaborators and allies from across all identities, spectrums, ages, ethnicities, and geographies.  Join us – better together!
